Amateur Competitors

SECTION FOR AMATEUR COMPETITORS

includes all the instruments mentioned above:

-solo piano

-four-handed piano and piano duo (two pianos)

-chamber ensembles (duos, trios… octettes included. All formal and informal chamber ensembles, including all instruments and solo singing, except wind instruments)

 

 

Section – I – SOLO PIANO

 

PRE - CATEGORY - age from 7 to 8             -a free program up to 5minutes

CATEGORY – A  –    age from 9 to 10           -a free program up to 8minutes

CATEGORY – B  –     age 11, 12 and 13        -a free program up to 10 minutes

CATEGORY – C  –    age 14,15 and 16         -a free program up to 15 minutes

CATEGORY – D –     age 17, 18 and 19        -a free program up to 20 minutes

 

COMMENT:

–   The program should be performed without music in all categories. The date of  starting the competition-28.01.2005.-is the upper  age limit in each category.

–    Every candidate can apply for a participation in two categories – in his own age category and the higher age category, but with different programs.

 

Section – II – FOUR-HANDED PIANO AND PIANO DUO (TWO PIANOS)

 

PRE – CATEGORY –age from 7 to 8              -a free program up to 5minutes

CATEGORY – A  –    age from 9 to 10           -a free program up to 8minutes

CATEGORY – B  –     age 11, 12 and 13        -a free program up to 10 minutes

CATEGORY – C  –    age 14,15 and 16         -a free program up to 15 minutes

CATEGORY – D –     age 17, 18 and 19        -a free program up to 20 minutes

 

COMMENT:

All comments from section I are in force but the program is allowed to be played from music.

 

Section – III – CHAMBER ENSEMBLES

 

CATEGORY – DUO                  – age from 6 to 19 - a free program within 5 to 20 minutes duration

CATEGORY – TRIO                 – age from 6 to 19 - a free program within 5 to 20 minutes duration

CATEGORY – QUARTETTE    – age from 6 to 19 - a free program within 5 to 20 minutes duration

CATEGORY – QUINTETTE     – age from 6 to 19 - a free program within 5 to 20 minutes duration

CATEGORY –  SEKSTETTE    – age from 6 to 19 - a free program within 5 to 20 minutes duration

CATEGORY –  SEPTETTE       – age from 6 to 19 - a free program within 5 to 20 minutes duration

CATEGORY –  OKTETTE        – age from 6 to 19 - a free program within 5 to 20 minutes duration

 

COMMENT:

–        For all chamber ensembles the age limit is from 6 to 19 years old , except for THE SOLO SINGERS where the age limit is up to 26.

–        Different age competitors are allowed to perfororm their programs together in all categories. The adjudicators would value the quality of the performance not considering the age and the level of difficulty of the program.

–        The competitors are allowed to play from music.

 

Section – IV – AMATEUR COMPETITORS

 

1. SOLO PIANO

2. FOUR-HANDED PIANO AND PIANO DUO (TWO PIANOS)

3. CHAMBER ENSEMBLES (DUO, TRIO, QUARTETTE… OCTETTE  INCLUDED)

 

COMMENT:

–        Competitors with no age limits are allowed to participate in the amateur category.

–        Duration of a performance is within 5 to 20 minutes free program from the composer's music repertoire.

–        The competitors from the amateur section should not possess any diploma neither from a Musical High School nor from a Musical Academy.

–        At the moment of the competition the candidates should not be regular or extra-mural students in any Junior or Senior Musical Schools or Musical Academies.

–        Candidates older than 22 might have possess a junior musical school diploma.

 

IN ALL CATEGORIES THE PROGRAM IS ALLOWED TO BE PERFORMED FROM MUSIC.

 

 

Clause 2.

 

AWARDS

 

           In all sections and all categories the adjudicators would estimate the candidates as follows:

–        ABSOLUTE FIRST AWARD for those candidates who would achieve best results within the first awards

–        FIRST AWARD for candidates who would achieve 95 – 100 points

–        SECOND AWARD for candidates who would achieve 90 - 94.99 points

–        THIRD AWARD for candidates who would achieve 85 -89.99 points

- ENCOURAGING AWARD FOR A PARTICIPATION  is for those candidates who would achieve 75 –84.99 points

 

            All awarded and encouraged competitors would recieve diplomas containing the number of points they had achieved. All competitors who win first awards would receive medals while the candidates with absolute first awards would accept a medallion of FIRST OPEN COMPETITION FOR PIANO,PIANO DUO AND CHAMBER ENSEMBLES OF MUSICAL SCHOOL DAVORIN JENKO.

 

Clause 3.

 

TERM FOR APPLICATIONS AND PAYMENT FOR A PARTICIPATION AT THE COMPETITION

 

            Legibly filled in applications with the program and minute duration, a certificate of birth and an evidence of payment should be delivered by 1st December 2004 on address:
